Lotus Highlights Pollution Control Case at Lotus Tower During CTE’s Sustainable Construction Workshop

“We have already mastered sustainable construction practices; the next step is to scale them up and make them a reality throughout the entire production chain, engaging companies of all sizes.” The statement comes from Lídia Cunha, Sustainability and ESG Manager at Lotus, during her participation in the Sustainable Construction Workshop organized by the Building Technology Center (CTE) in São Paulo, on November 6.

On the occasion, Lídia presented the Lotus Tower case, highlighting the strategies adopted by the company for pollution and erosion control at the construction site — one of the most challenging stages in the building sector. She showcased how the project has incorporated innovative measures to mitigate environmental impacts, from soil management and sediment control to drainage systems and vehicle washing stations. “We implemented solutions such as compaction of internal roads, slope protection, installation of infiltration basins, and a truck wash system to reduce sediment and dust dispersion. These are actions that require planning, technology, and team engagement at all levels,” she emphasized.

Lídia also pointed out that the success of these practices is directly linked to Lotus’s culture, which fosters innovation and investment in sustainable solutions applied to construction. “We have a leadership team committed to adopting new technologies and a technical and administrative staff that understands the importance of integrating sustainability, quality, and safety into production. This alignment across all levels of the company is what turns theory into practice,” she said.

While in São Paulo, Lídia also took part in Green Building Brasil, an event that brought together industry experts and representatives from international organizations, including Cristina Gamboa, CEO of the World Green Building Council, Emmanuel Normant, Global Vice President at Saint-Gobain, and Felipe Augusto Faria, from GBC Brasil. The discussions addressed best practices and guidelines for sustainable construction, covering topics such as public policies, tax incentives, and operational challenges.

Located in Brasília, the Lotus Tower stands as a model of sustainability and one of the most emblematic developments by the company, reflecting Lotus’s commitment to innovation, environmental responsibility, and signature architecture. The project has already established itself as a national icon, earning sustainability certifications such as LEED Gold and PBE Edifica Level A.
