Small gestures, when added together, can transform reality. That’s exactly what happened when an internal campaign brought Lotus employees together around a simple yet powerful cause: the proper disposal of plastic bottle caps. The result? One hundred kilograms of bottle caps collected and donated to the Patanatampa Project — a number that represents far more than recyclable material; it reflects engagement, collective awareness, and genuine care for those who need it most.
Led by Lotus’s Sustainability team, the initiative saw massive employee participation, with people setting aside and contributing their bottle caps throughout the campaign. A simple habit, woven into everyday routines, that grew into something with real collective purpose.

What Is Patanatampa
Patanatampa is a socio-environmental initiative that collects plastic bottle caps for recycling. The proceeds from selling the material are reinvested directly into animal welfare: spaying and neutering, vaccinations, and pet food for stray animals and independent shelters — many of which operate with limited resources.
In other words, every properly discarded bottle cap helps close a virtuous cycle: it reduces waste that might otherwise end up in landfills or in nature, while also funding care for lives that depend on this kind of support to survive with dignity.

Sustainability That Is Also Solidarity
Initiatives like this one reinforce a growing understanding within Lotus: sustainability isn’t limited to managing internal resources and processes. It also takes shape in how the company and its employees relate to the world around them — to communities and to causes that make a real difference beyond the company’s walls.
Donating 100 kg of bottle caps is a symbolic milestone, but it’s also an invitation: to keep practicing small, recurring gestures that add up to real impact. The goal now is to keep the campaign going and expand its reach even further in the cycles ahead.
