The construction market is still predominantly male, but Lotus is changing that reality. The company has a project team made up mostly of women and ensures a female presence in all its areas of activity – from project design to construction monitoring.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Lotus Institute held a special event on Monday, March 10, in honor of them, reinforcing its commitment to the appreciation and protagonist of women in the construction industry. Among the topics covered were the professional challenges that women face, sisterhood in the workplace and the importance of compliance in the corporate environment, highlighting good practices, professional ethics and measures to ensure a fairer and safer work environment for everyone, in addition to reflections on how to recognize and free oneself from abusive relationships, analyzing the impact of these experiences on professional life.
Commercial Director, Roberta Magalhães, highlighted the importance of events like this to promote reflections and debates among women. “These exchange spaces strengthen the professional and personal growth of employees, allowing them to share experiences and learn from each other. Initiatives like this reinforce Lotus’ commitment to creating a more inclusive corporate environment, where women feel supported and valued at all stages of their careers.”
Legal Director Elisa de Albuquerque highlighted the importance of “compliance in the corporate environment”, emphasizing its fundamental role in building an organizational culture based on ethics and transparency. During her speech, he highlighted how adherence to good practices and the implementation of strict guidelines not only ensure “a fairer and safer work environment for everyone”, but also strengthen the company’s credibility in the market. Elisa reinforced Lotus’ commitment to confidentiality and integrity, highlighting that the construction company adopts strict protocols to ensure the confidentiality of information and the protection of its employees, promoting a space where everyone can act with confidence and institutional support.
Also speaking at the event were Jéssica Calado, project director, and Lidia Cunha, Sustainability and ESG Manager. They shared a little of their personal and professional stories with those present.
Encouraging and protecting women is part of the company’s culture, which dates back even before its creation through the principles of the founding partners, who were raised and educated exclusively by their mother. “We learned from an early age that there should be no inequality or discrimination based on gender; on the contrary, we believe that women should take on fundamental roles regardless of their area of activity in the market,” explains Ruy Hernandez.
The Lotus Institute promoted this initiative to encourage dialogue and the exchange of experiences, reinforcing the company’s mission to ensure a safe, inclusive work environment full of growth opportunities for women in the construction industry. In addition to the chat, participants were able to enjoy a moment of relaxation and celebration in an environment prepared especially for them.
