This Saturday (24), Lotus promoted a major volunteering action at Creche Alecrim Social, located in Ceilândia-DF, as part of the project “May – Mês de Fazer o Bem”, which celebrates the company’s anniversary with a focus on solidarity. The initiative directly benefited 87 children and teenagers served by the daycare center, offering donations, leisure and structural support to the institution. The action was designed to provide a special morning for children, with recreational activities, distribution of personal hygiene kits and donation of food and cleaning products. Among the activities, children were able to enjoy games, bouncy castles, face painting, competitions with prizes, and also enjoy popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream and a special lunch prepared by Lotus employees themselves.
Creche Alecrim Social serves children and teenagers between 5 and 17 years old after school, offering activities such as crafts, literacy, discussion groups and occupational therapy. The institution does not receive government support and is maintained exclusively through donations, facing constant challenges, mainly related to food, hygiene and maintenance of the space. The mobilization was organized by Gabriela Viana, Portfolio Director and leader of the Lotus Institute, with the support of the Marketing Coordinator, Thamires Morais, and the Project Coordinator, Letícia Coelho, who indicated the institution. Voluntary participation brought together employees from different areas of the company, united by the desire to give back to the community. “This was the first action of our Volunteer Month and we already want to make it a tradition. We are very happy to be able to contribute and learn from this transformative experience. Based on this pilot, we will structure new initiatives to make volunteering a living value in Lotus’ culture”, says Gabriela Viana. The solidarity morning lasted from 8 am to 1 pm and reflected Lotus’ mission to build not only spaces, but also opportunities and positive impact in the communities in which it operates.
