The construction and real estate development company Lotus celebrates its fifth anniversary on May 24. With the help and unity of an extraordinary team of 200 employees and collaborators, the company works to positively impact people’s lives.
“We are very proud that Lotus is a genuinely Brasiliense company, born in the capital, and already projecting its name nationally. We are grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey with us,” says Ruy Hernandez, one of the company’s CEOs.
Growth
In May 2022, the developer had a total of 57,000 m² built in Brasília.
The company currently has 31,000 m² under construction and 256,000 m² in the approval process. The numbers represent six delivered developments, two under construction, and three in the design phase.
Lotus Certifications
Lotus is a company that invests in technology and is committed to best practices in safety, environmental, social, and governance aspects. In these five years in the market, the construction and development company has already acquired the following certifications and seals:
– LEED Seal: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is an environmental certification system developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) to encourage and recognize sustainable and energy-efficient buildings.
-PBE Edifica: A program for evaluating the energy performance of buildings, developed by Inmetro (National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology) and coordinated by Procel (National Program for Electric Energy Conservation). Its objective is to assess the energy performance of commercial, service, and public buildings in Brazil and to encourage the adoption of energy efficiency measures.
-ISO 9001: The NBR ISO 9001 Quality Management Seal is a certification granted to companies that meet the requirements established by the ISO 9001:2015 standard, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The standard provides guidelines for an effective quality management system aimed at improving process efficiency, reducing costs, increasing customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
-IAF Seal**: The IAF seal is a mark of conformity indicating that an accreditation body has been evaluated and recognized by other IAF members through a mutual recognition agreement of their assessment and accreditation activities. This mutual recognition agreement is known as the MRA (Multilateral Recognition Arrangement).
GPTW: Great Place to Work is an international certification granted to companies that have a healthy, positive, and productive work environment, with an organizational culture based on values such as trust, respect, integrity, and collaboration.
Lotus CEO Luiz Felipe Hernandez states that these are major achievements for a company with only five years in the market. “It is a great joy for us to have earned all these certifications in such a short time. And we believe that there is still much more to come,” he emphasizes.
History
Lotus was founded in 2018 and, in a short time, gained its place, setting trends and establishing itself in the market. In 2021, the company completed the sale of the Lotus Corporate development to the World Bank. A commercial building with more than 9,805 m² of built area, it was fully customized according to the institution’s layout and security requirements.
At the end of that year, partners Luiz Felipe Hernandez and Ruy Hernandez were included in the prestigious Forbes Brazil Under 30 list – the world’s leading financial magazine. They stood out among young Brazilians under 30 who achieved extraordinary results in the industry and entrepreneurship segments.
