Lotus distributes chocolates to children in an Easter month campaign

Reinforcing its commitment to society, the construction and development company Lotus took advantage of Easter month to distribute chocolates to children. The event took place on April 20th in Recanto das Emas during a joint community outreach action carried out by guardianship councils in partnership with the Public Defender’s Office of the Federal District (DPDF).

According to Gabriela Viana, a Lotus team member, the initiative arose from an invitation from the Public Defender’s Office advisory team. “They noticed that families spent a long time at the appointments and nothing was offered to the children,” she explains.

“The invitation was initially for a Lotus employee who, together with friends, already organizes campaigns and donations. She then extended the invitation to Lotus Marketing, represented by Leandro Andrade,” Gabriela narrates.

The distribution of chocolate boxes also took place at Pinheirinho Roxo School, in Recanto das Emas. Gabriela says the school was recommended by the guardianship council of the administrative region. “They map the schools, and every month, the Public Defender’s mobile unit visits a satellite city. In April, it was Recanto das Emas’ turn.”

For Fernanda Roland, another Lotus employee, “the action was a unique moment.” “I felt fulfilled to be able to bring happiness to each child who participated,” she states.

“It’s a very beautiful act, an incredible job, and only those who participate know how rewarding it is,” she adds.

Team member Thamires Morais, who also took part in the initiative, believes the volunteer work was enriching and gratifying. “We handed out chocolate boxes to children who were accompanying family members during a Public Defender’s Office outreach event. The idea was to brighten the day for those children who had been waiting at the location for a long time. Afterwards, we also distributed chocolates at a public school,” she recounts.

“This type of action, no matter how simple it may seem, is very important for those who receive it,” emphasizes Thamires.
