Lotus becomes the first construction and development company in Brasília to implement a Code of Conduct and active Whistleblower Channel

Lotus, which has been gaining national recognition for adopting ESG policies, has become the first construction and development company in Brasília to implement an active Code of Conduct and Whistleblower Channel.

The company has established a Compliance Program, reinforcing an ethical and transparent environment committed to the well-being and integrity of employees, partners, and related third parties.

“We value honesty and respect for the regulations imposed by regulatory agencies and other legislation. Transparency is one of our core principles, and the Compliance Program confirms our commitment to following procedures, regulations, and ethics in all processes,” emphasizes one of Lotus’s founders, Luiz Felipe Hernandez.

Compliance Program

Compliance comes from the English verb “to comply” and means to fulfill, obey, and be in accordance with laws, norms, and organizational procedures, as well as ethical partnerships with both the public and private sectors and their suppliers.

Among the actions included in the Compliance Program are the Code of Conduct, Third-Party Hiring Policy, Anti-Corruption Policy, and Whistleblower Channel.

“These new mechanisms will guide the relationships established within and with Lotus and are essential for the good work we have already done and will continue to do,” adds another Lotus owner, Ruy Hernandez.

Whistleblower Channel

Innovative in the construction sector, the Whistleblower Channel instituted by Lotus is open to employees and anyone who believes the company has engaged in unethical conduct or violated ethical principles, codes of conduct, and/or current legislation.

Reports can be made anonymously via the company website or by phone at 0800 300 4532, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

An independent, specialized third-party company will screen and investigate the reports, maintaining confidentiality and handling each situation appropriately. Afterward, cases will be submitted to Lotus’s Compliance Committee.

Lotus

Lotus is the first construction company in Brasília fully committed to the best practices outlined in the ESG agenda.

The acronym, in English “environmental, social, and governance,” means the company practices environmental, social, and corporate governance.

With 4 years in the market, Lotus has residential and corporate developments in Brasília and also in Miami.

Recently, one of its buildings, Lotus Corporate, was sold to the World Bank for being a benchmark in sustainability and for meeting all international Compliance requirements and certifications of good ESG practices.
