Training: developer prepares employees with a focus on humanized leadership

Lotus held an event for 54 professionals, including directors, this Friday (22)

Leaders are always human, no matter where they are. With this in mind, Lotus Incorporadora held a lecture for construction workers focused on raising awareness among leaders. On Friday (22), HR/Business consultant and Dale Carnegie Trainer Daniela Mamede spoke about “The human side of leadership in change, self-awareness and emotional intelligence”. The objective was to highlight the incentive for creativity and innovation. During the two-hour meeting, the educator, who is also a specialist in human resources and business management, kept the team attentive and encouraged each employee to participate in discussions about leadership, purpose, management, skills, performance, judgments and the ability to deal with mistakes. Mamede, who praised the maturity of the Lotus team, raised important questions and issues for the success of the company and the employees of the developer. From the point of view of each employee and collaborator, Mamede wanted to know about the company’s strengths, the changes in the last two years, expectations for the next two years, the impact of these changes and what each person wants from Lotus.
“When I arrived at Lotus for the briefing before the training, I immediately heard that Lotus managers are kind and humane,” the consultant emphasized, recalling that a leader works with people in dynamic and trusting relationships that inspire, involve and align efforts. “This is the way to obtain the desired organizational results,” explained the Dale Carnegie consultant, emphasizing that “people support a world they help to create.”

United team

A total of 54 professionals attended the event. Among them were the owners, directors, engineers, architects, foremen, inspectors and the administrative team, which organizes the construction work and the company’s headquarters, in the Noroeste neighborhood of Brasília. The main objective of the lecture was to develop self-knowledge and open dialogue among everyone.

The technical director of Lotus, engineer Paulo Tavares, explains that the developer constantly invests in training. “At Lotus, we have weekly training sessions with the engineering team. This time, the action is focused on the administrative and human resources area of the company”, highlighted Paulo, who has been with the company for almost two years.

During the training, the human resources manager at Lotus, Wilkerson Bastos, spoke to his colleagues about the importance of teamwork, especially in the construction industry, where “there is pressure” to meet deadlines and deliver excellent products to customers. “We believe that with the work of a cohesive team, aligned processes and participative leadership, Lotus will leave a legacy in Brasília”, concluded the manager who also has training in people management.
For Adriana Rodrigues, an intern in the commercial and financial area of Lotus, the training is “an opportunity for everyone to get to know the company’s processes better”. “We were able to look at Lotus through the eyes of engineers, architects and everyone involved in building a project from the ground up”, she pointed out.

Business vision

The owners of Lotus, Ruy Hernandez and Luiz Felipe Hernandez, attended the entire training and gave employees and collaborators complete freedom to participate in the action with suggestions, criticisms and lots of ideas.

“At Lotus, we make sure our team achieves the best possible results because we know that a happy team supports and is passionate about the work that enhances their talent and performance,” assured Ruy.

The result is positive for employees. According to engineer Paulo Tavares, the training offered by Lotus also helps employees and collaborators understand that, many times, it is necessary to work with joy and ease in a “busy daily environment with deadlines to meet.”

Awareness routine

The Lotus board of directors is implementing a training and lecture circuit. The plan includes monthly meetings to bring together the entire team (workers, administrators, supervisors, engineers, directors and partners).

On October 19, Lotus held a day of awareness and self-care for women in the construction industry. The event celebrated the importance of women in the team and discussed breast cancer prevention during the month of the fight against the disease.

“We are a real estate company that works to always get it right, but one of our differences is that we know how to deal with mistakes that may occur with maturity. Everyone here is treated with respect and a lot of empathy,” added Luiz Felipe.

Social and sustainable practices

Social and sustainable actions are part of the company’s projects, which, in just 4 years in the market, has already stood out for offering a new chapter for the construction industry.

Lotus has already launched 9 projects and stands out for its investment in ESG. The acronym, in English, stands for “Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance”, and refers to the best environmental, social and governance practices.

To demonstrate that it invests in ESG practices, a company must have initiatives to protect natural resources, reduce pollutant emissions and positively impact the environment while delivering benefits to society.

Lotus is a company with a Certificate of Registration in the Quality Management System – PBQP-H level A -, which accredits it as a company that has complete management of the quality control of its works, meeting all the requirements of SIAC – Conformity Assessment System for Civil Construction Services and Works Companies.
